IPTV Smarters Pro on a box

Install IPTV Smarters Pro on your box, log in with your Xtream Codes details and adjust the settings that matter.

IPTV Smarters Pro on a box

Install IPTV Smarters Pro from your device's official app store, then log in with the Xtream Codes details we e-mail you within minutes.

The login screen has four fields: a profile name you choose, your username, your password and the server URL.

Three settings make the biggest difference on a box: the internal player, the buffer and the guide time shift. Change them one at a time.

IPTV Smarters Pro is often the first player people try on a new box, and there is a good reason. Its home screen uses big tiles for Live TV, Movies and Series, so you can find your way with four arrow keys and an OK button. This guide takes you from an empty store page to your first channel, then through the settings that matter most on a box: the internal player, the buffer and the programme guide. After that, we cover the everyday side: favourites, search, browsing a large library, using more than one box, and what to do when something misbehaves.

Keep your welcome e-mail open on your phone. You will need it at the login step, and having it within reach saves a lot of walking back and forth. If you have not ordered yet, you can still install the app and look around; it simply stays empty until you add your details.

Why IPTV Smarters Pro suits a box and a remote

Smarters opens on a dashboard of large, colourful sections. That layout is friendly to everyone in the house, including the person who never opens a settings menu. You press OK on Live TV, pick a category, then pick a channel. Back takes you up one level. There is very little to memorise.

Big tiles

Live TV, Movies and Series each get their own large button on the dashboard.

Sorted for you

With Xtream Codes, channels, films and shows land in their own sections without any tidying.

Saved profiles

Each login is stored as a named profile, handy if you name them after rooms.

Choice of engine

The settings let you pick the internal player when a stream will not cooperate.

Parental control

A PIN can hide whole categories from the younger viewers in the house.

Same app on a phone

The same player on your phone or tablet keeps menus familiar across devices.

It reads Xtream Codes natively. Once you log in, it sorts everything on its own: live channels in one place, movies in another, series grouped by season. With the Premium Pack, for example, that means 20,000+ channels, 24,000+ series and 100,000+ movies placed into categories without lifting a finger.

Where it is less strong is the classic timeline guide. If someone in your house loves scrolling a big grid of what is on now and next, TiviMate on a box may suit them better. For straightforward browsing with a remote, especially if the TV is used mostly for films and series, IPTV Smarters Pro is hard to beat.

A tour of the IPTV Smarters Pro dashboard

Before you install anything, it helps to know what you are aiming for. Once you are logged in, every evening follows the same path from the dashboard down to a playing channel, and Back retraces it one step at a time.

DashboardLive TV, Movies, Series
Category listGroups down the left
Channel listPreview on the right
Full screenPress OK again

On the dashboard itself you will usually see the three big sections, plus smaller buttons along the edge for settings, the account and switching profile. The exact arrangement shifts a little between versions and between devices, so if a button is not where this guide says, look at the top corners and along the bottom edge before you go hunting in menus.

Inside Live TV, the screen splits in two or three parts. Categories sit on the left. When you press OK on one, its channels appear in a list beside it. Highlighting a channel often starts a small preview, and pressing OK a second time takes it to full screen. While a channel is playing, pressing OK or Up usually brings up a bar with the channel name and the current programme. Movies and Series work the same way but show posters instead of a list.

The Back button is your friend in this app. From full screen it returns you to the list, from the list to the categories, and from the categories to the dashboard. That predictability is exactly why the app works so well for people who do not want to learn a new remote layout.

Which boxes run IPTV Smarters Pro

The routine is the same on an Android TV box, a Google TV box, a Fire TV Stick or an Apple TV. Only the store name changes. Availability is decided by the publisher and can vary by device and region, so search before you plan your evening around it.

DeviceWhere to lookWhat to expectRemote notes

Samsung or LG smart TVThe TV’s own app storeSearch first; if it is absent, use Smart IPTV or IBO PlayerColoured buttons often appear on screen

If the app is not in your store, nothing is lost. Your access works in every supported player. Our box apps hub lists all six and helps you pick another, and the XCIPTV guide covers the most adjustable alternative on Android-based boxes.

A note on older hardware. The dashboard is light, but the Movies and Series sections load a lot of poster images. On an older stick with little memory, scrolling posters can feel heavy the first time. It gets smoother once the images are cached, and clearing other apps from the background helps a great deal.

Before you install: a five-minute box check

A short check saves time later. Most of the “app problems” we are asked about turn out to be a box on a weak power supply, an old system version or a full storage. Run through these before you open the store.

Android TV box with HDMI and power cables connected behind a television
Wall power, a solid network link and current software come before any app.

Hardware first

  • The box is plugged into its own wall adapter, not a USB port on the TV.
  • It is on Ethernet, or on 5 GHz Wi-Fi with a clear line to the router.
  • The system software is up to date: Settings, then System or About, then update.
  • There is storage left: remove apps you never open.
  • Your welcome e-mail is at hand, with the server URL, username and password.

Speed is the other half of the story. Count about 10 Mbps for HD, 15 Mbps for Full HD and 25 Mbps for 4K on each screen that plays at the same time. A quick way to check is to stand where the box sits, connect your phone to the same Wi-Fi name, and run a speed test there. If the figure is well below what you need, sort the network out before you blame the app. Our page on Wi-Fi or Ethernet for an IPTV box helps you choose for each room.

Installing IPTV Smarters Pro step by step

Here is the installation with the remote, from the Home screen to a working profile. On Apple TV, the store is called the App Store and the button says Get instead of Install; everything else is the same.

  1. Open the store. Press Home on your remote, then select your device’s official app store from the top row or the Apps section.
  2. Search. Select the magnifying glass and type “IPTV Smarters”. If your remote has a microphone button, hold it and say the name instead.
  3. Check the listing. Look at the app name and screenshots before installing. Similar names exist, and you want the one you meant.
  4. Install. Press Install or Get, then wait for the progress bar. Press Open when it appears.
  5. Accept the app’s terms if you agree. The first screen may show the publisher’s terms. Read them and accept only if you are happy with them.
  6. Choose the login type. Pick the option that mentions Xtream Codes, often shown as “Login with Xtream Codes API”.
  7. Fill the four fields. Type a name you like in the first field, for example “Living room”. Then type the username, the password and the server URL exactly as they appear in your e-mail.
  8. Add the user. Press Add User or Login. The first load of your channel list can take a moment, so leave the remote alone until it finishes.
  9. Pick your profile. Select the profile you just created. The dashboard opens with Live TV, Movies and Series.

Remote shortcut: on many boxes, pressing the Menu button while you are on a text field brings up extra keyboard options, sometimes including keys for a dot, a slash or “.com”. If long server addresses are a pain, pair your phone as a keyboard through your box maker’s official remote app.

Once the dashboard shows, pin the app to the front of your Home screen: highlight it, hold Select and move it to the first slot. On the box-specific guides for IPTV on Firestick and IPTV on Apple TV you will find the exact menu names for that step.

Filling the IPTV Smarters Pro login screen

Typing the server URL is where most logins fail. It is long, it mixes letters, dots and slashes, and on some boxes the keyboard hides the symbols behind an extra key. Here is what the screen looks like, and what goes in each field.

IPTV Smarters Pro › Login with Xtream Codes API
Living room
from your e-mail
from your e-mail
from your e-mail, start and port included
Add user

Four fields, filled in this order. The first one is only a label for you.

Field by field

Any name is just a label. Use the room or the person, so a second profile later is easy to tell apart. Username and password are case-sensitive: a capital where there should be a lower-case letter blocks the login. URL must include “http” at the start if your e-mail shows it, and the port after the colon if there is one. Watch for look-alike characters: capital I and lower-case l, zero and the letter O.

After you press Add User, the app checks your details with the server. If they are right, it starts loading categories, and you will see a progress message for Live TV, then Movies, then Series. The first time, with a large library, this takes longer than it will on later evenings. Our Xtream Codes guide covers this login format on every kind of box, and it is worth a look if you set up more than one device.

Some versions of the app also offer a playlist option for an M3U link. It works, but on a remote it is slower to type and less forgiving, and the guide may need extra steps. Keep it as a fallback; our page on the M3U playlist on your box explains when it makes sense.

When IPTV Smarters Pro refuses the login

A refused login is frustrating, but it is nearly always one of a few small things. Work through these situations in order before you write to us; most people find the culprit at the first or second card.

If the app says the details are invalid

Retype the URL slowly. Check the port after the colon and make sure no space slipped in at the end of any field.

Then: compare the password letter by letter
If it spins and never finishes

The box may not be online. Leave the app, open another app that needs the internet, and see if it loads.

Then: restart the router and the box
If it worked yesterday and not today

Check your plan’s end date in the welcome e-mail. Plans do not renew on their own.

Then: see the plans page to continue
If it works on your phone but not on the box

The details are right, so the box is the difference: a typo, a time setting or the network.

Then: check the box’s date and time, then retype

Do not keep retrying at speed. Pressing Add User ten times in a row with the same typo will not help, and it fills the app with half-made profiles. Stop, check each field against the e-mail, delete any broken profile, then try once more.

If you have been through all four cards and the app still refuses, write to us with your box model, the app version from its settings and a photo of the error. We answer 7 days a week by e-mail and WhatsApp, in English and French, through our contact page.

IPTV Smarters Pro settings that matter on a box

Open Settings from the gear icon on the dashboard. Menu names shift between versions, so look for the closest match. These are the ones we change on every box we set up, and the reasons behind each choice.

SettingWhere to lookWhat we suggestWhy
Player selectionSettings, then Player SelectionStart with the default; switch if a channel stutters or stays blackEach internal player handles streams a little differently
Buffer sizeSettings, then Player SettingsMedium, or one step higher on Wi-FiA bigger buffer absorbs short dips in speed
EPG time shiftSettings, then Time Format or EPG TimeshiftLeave at zero unless the guide is off after you check the box clockFixes a guide that is early or late
Time formatSettings, then Time FormatPick the clock style your household reads easilyMakes the channel bar quicker to read
Parental controlSettings, then Parental ControlSet a PIN and lock categories you want hiddenKeeps the remote safe in small hands
Automatic refreshSettings, then AutomationTurn on refresh for channels and guideKeeps your lists current without manual reloads

The order matters. Start with the guide, because a wrong clock confuses everything else. Then set the parental lock, because it only takes a minute. Leave the player and buffer for last, and only change them if a channel actually misbehaves. Many boxes play perfectly on the defaults, and there is no prize for changing settings that already work.

If your guide is out by exactly one hour, do not reach for the time shift first. Check the date, time and time zone in the box’s own settings. A box set to the wrong zone pushes every programme off by the same amount. Our TV guide setup page walks through that check for Canadian time zones.

Choosing between the internal players

The player selection setting is the most powerful switch in the app and the least understood. Each internal player is a different way of decoding the stream your box receives. They do not change what you are watching, only how the box turns it into a picture. A stream that one engine finds awkward may play smoothly in another.

The signs that point to an engine problem are specific. The picture is black but the sound plays. The sound is missing while the picture looks normal. The image stutters on one channel while every other channel is smooth. A channel starts, then freezes on the first frame. In each case, switching the engine is the first thing to try, before touching the buffer or the router.

Deep dive: testing engines without losing track

Pick one channel that misbehaves and two that play well. Note which engine is selected now. Switch to the next engine, go back to Live TV, and try all three channels. If the bad channel is now smooth and the good ones still play, keep that engine. If the good ones start misbehaving, go back to the original engine and accept that the bad channel is the exception. Write down which engine you settled on: after an app update, settings sometimes reset, and you will want to know what to restore.

If no engine helps and the problem is limited to 4K channels, the issue is almost always speed rather than the app. One 4K screen needs about 25 Mbps of steady bandwidth, and Wi-Fi in a busy home rarely holds that through a whole evening. A network cable is the real fix; our box buffering fixes go through the options.

Testing your IPTV Smarters Pro setup in one evening

Once the settings are in place, a short test tells you whether your box, your network and the app are working together. Do it on a normal evening, when the rest of the household is online as usual, so the result reflects real conditions.

  1. First minutes

    Three channels

Play one channel in HD, one in Full HD and one in 4K if your TV and pack support it. Watch each for a few minutes.

  2. Next

    Channel changes

Move up and down the list ten times. Note how long each channel takes to start.

  3. Then

    A film from Movies

Start a movie, skip forward, pause and resume. Check the sound stays in step with the picture.

  4. Later on

    Peak time

Return to the 4K channel when everyone else is online. This is where weak Wi-Fi shows itself.

If all of it plays smoothly, you are done, and you never need to open the settings again. If only the 4K channel struggles at peak time, look at the network. If one channel struggles at any time while others play, switch the engine. If everything is slow to start, clear the cache and restart the box. That simple sorting covers the vast majority of cases.

Live TV with the remote: favourites, search and the channel bar

A large channel list is great until you have to scroll through it every evening. Spend ten minutes on the first night setting up favourites, and every evening after that starts in the right place.

  • Add favourites. Highlight a channel in the list, then press and hold OK, or press the Menu button, and choose Add to Favourites.
  • Open Favourites first. A Favourites category appears near the top of Live TV. Start there instead of scrolling.
  • Search per section. The magnifying glass in Live TV searches channels only. Use it when you know part of a name.
  • Read the channel bar. While watching, press OK or Up to see the current programme, and sometimes the next one.
  • Go back a channel. Many versions remember the last channel; look for a recent or history option in the menu.

If several people share the box and have very different tastes, a single favourites group can get crowded. Some households solve that with separate profiles, one per person, each with its own favourites. It takes a minute to add a second profile with the same login and a different name, as long as only one of them plays at a time.

Speaking of the remote, it is worth learning which buttons do what on your particular box. Our page of remote control tips for IPTV covers long presses, the Menu button and typing from your phone, all of which make Smarters quicker to use.

Movies and series: browsing a big library

The Movies and Series sections are where IPTV Smarters Pro really earns its place on a box. Instead of a text list, you get posters, and each poster opens a page with a short description and a play button. Series are grouped by season, and episodes usually resume where you stopped, as long as you leave with Back rather than switching the box off at the wall.

Hand holding a TV box remote while browsing a film library on screen
Search inside Movies or Series to keep results short and quick to load.

Finding something without scrolling for ages

Open the section first, then search. The search stays inside that section, so a film search does not wade through channels. Inside a category, poster rows load as you move, so give older boxes a second to catch up rather than pressing Right repeatedly.

If you start an episode and want to come back later, press Back to leave it. The app records where you stopped. Switching the box off at the wall, or pulling the power, can lose that position.

100,000+movies, Premium Pack
155,000+movies, VIP Premium Pack
179,000+movies, Ultimate 4K Pack

With libraries this size, browsing by category beats scrolling. The VIP Premium Pack adds 61,000+ series to its 27,000+ channels, and the Ultimate 4K Pack brings 47,000+ series alongside 57,000+ 4K channels. The bigger the library, the more a box with spare memory and a wired connection makes the poster pages feel quick.

Several profiles and several boxes

Every pack includes 1 simultaneous connection. You can install IPTV Smarters Pro on the living-room box, the bedroom stick and your tablet, and log in on each with the same details. What you cannot do is play on two of them at the same moment. Inside the app, you can also keep more than one profile, which is useful when different people want different favourites.

Works well

  • Same login on all your own devices, used one at a time
  • One profile per room or per person, each with its own favourites
  • Moving from the living room to the bedroom after leaving the player properly
  • Keeping the app on a phone for the room the box does not reach

Causes trouble

  • Two screens playing at once on a single connection
  • Pressing Home and leaving a stream running in the background
  • Typing your login on a relative’s box in another home
  • Leaving broken profiles from failed logins in the list

Before you switch rooms, press Back until you leave the player on the first box. Some boxes keep the stream open in the background if you only press Home, and that uses your one connection. If you need more than one screen playing at the same time, support can tell you the conditions and the price on request.

Common IPTV Smarters Pro hiccups and quick fixes

Most problems fall into a small number of patterns. Try these fixes in the order shown. If the first one does not work, move to the next column before writing to us.

App feels slowClear the app’s cache from the box’s Settings, then AppsClose other apps running in the backgroundRestart the box from its menu
Film loses its placeLeave with Back, not the power buttonLet the box sleep instead of pulling the plugCheck storage space on the box

Restarting from the box’s own menu is better than pulling the power cable. It lets the app save where you were and close its files cleanly. On a box that has been running for weeks, a planned restart now and then clears memory and often removes small stutters on its own. Our page on a box running hot or slow has more habits that keep it quick.

Keeping IPTV Smarters Pro quick over the months

A player that felt instant on day one can slow down over time. The usual reasons are a cache full of old posters and guide data, too many apps open in the background, or a box short of storage. None of these need technical knowledge to fix, just a short routine every few weeks.

Restart from the menu

Use the box’s own restart option every so often rather than pulling the power.

Clear the cache

Settings, then Apps, then IPTV Smarters Pro, then clear cache. Your login stays.

Update from the store

Let the official store update the app. Updates fix playback bugs.

Give it air

A hot box slows down to protect itself. Keep it out of closed cabinets.

Be careful with one thing: clearing the cache is not the same as clearing the app’s data. Clearing data removes your profiles, so you would need to type your login again. If you only want the app to feel quicker, clear the cache and leave the data alone.

IPTV Smarters Pro on each box family: the small differences

The app looks much the same everywhere, but the box underneath changes a few details. Knowing them in advance saves you from thinking something is broken when it is simply laid out differently on your device.

On an Android TV or Google TV box, the remote usually has a dedicated Back button and often a Menu or Options button. A long press on OK opens a channel’s options on many versions. Storage varies a lot between models, so this is the family where clearing the cache now and then makes the clearest difference. Our Android TV box guide covers the first boot and the store on these devices.

On a Fire TV Stick, the three-line Menu button does much of the work that a long press does elsewhere. The stick sits behind the TV, so heat and Wi-Fi signal are the two things to watch. If the stick came with a short HDMI extender, use it: it moves the stick away from the metal back of the panel and helps both.

On an Apple TV, you swipe on the touch surface to move and click it to select. Typing the server URL is slower with swipes, so this is where pairing an iPhone as a keyboard really pays off. The Menu or Back button on the Apple remote takes you up one level, just like Back elsewhere.

If you are on a Fire TV Stick

Press the three-line Menu button on a highlighted channel to find favourites and other options.

Then: use the HDMI extender if you have one
If you are on Apple TV

Swipe to move, click to select, and pair your iPhone as a keyboard for the login.

Then: check the clock under the tvOS settings
If you are on an Android TV box

Try a long press on OK for channel options, and keep an eye on storage.

Then: clear the cache every few weeks

Smarters words you will meet in menus

The menus use the same handful of terms throughout. Here is what each one means in plain language, so you know what you are changing before you press OK.

Xtream Codes API
The login type that uses a server URL, username and password. The one we recommend.
Profile or user
A saved login inside the app, with a name you chose, such as “Bedroom”.
Player selection
The choice of internal engine that decodes the stream.
Buffer
Seconds of video kept in reserve to ride over small dips in speed.
EPG time shift
An offset applied to the guide when its times do not match your clock.
Automation
Settings that refresh channels and guide on a schedule.
Cache
Stored posters and guide data. Clearing it speeds the app up without removing your login.

If a word in your version of the app does not appear here, it is usually a variation of one of these. When in doubt, change nothing, note the setting’s name and ask us; we would rather answer a question than help undo a change.

IPTV Smarters Pro or another player

IPTV Smarters Pro is the friendly all-rounder. If someone in your home prefers a full-screen timeline, TiviMate is built around exactly that on Android-based boxes. If you like to adjust buffers and engines with more control, XCIPTV gives you plenty of switches. You can keep two of them on the same box with the same access, as long as only one plays at a time.

Pick the player your whole household can use, then keep a second one installed for the evenings when a channel needs a second opinion.

When you are ready to pick a duration, the plans page shows current prices for 1, 3, 6 and 12 months. Payment is one-time, in Canadian dollars, by card or PayPal, with no contract and no automatic renewal. The catalogue includes French-language and international content; for a specific language, ask support before ordering.

FAQ

Is IPTV Smarters Pro included with my pack?

No. We are independent from the publisher. You install the app from your device’s official app store. If it offers a paid option, check the current price on the app’s official website.

Which login type should I pick?

Choose the Xtream Codes option. It needs your username, password and server URL, and it sorts Live TV, Movies and Series automatically.

Can I use the M3U link instead?

Many versions accept a playlist link. On a remote, though, Xtream Codes is quicker to type and usually loads the guide more reliably.

Why does the guide show the wrong programme?

Check the date, time and time zone on the box first. If they are right, open the app’s settings and adjust the EPG time shift until the guide matches your clock.

Can I install it on my box and my phone?

Yes. Use the same credentials on both, then watch on one device at a time. Your pack includes 1 simultaneous connection.

The app is not in my store. What should I do?

Availability depends on the publisher, the device and the region. Try another supported player such as TiviMate, XCIPTV, IBO Player or GSE Smart IPTV.

Which internal player should I choose?

Start with the default. If a channel shows a black screen, has no sound or stutters while others play well, switch to the next player in settings and test again.

Will clearing the cache delete my login?

No. Clearing the cache removes stored images and guide data. Clearing the app’s data, on the other hand, removes your profiles, so avoid that unless you plan to log in again.

Why do 4K channels pause when others play well?

4K needs about 25 Mbps of steady speed per screen. If Wi-Fi cannot hold that, move the box nearer the router or connect it with a network cable.

How fast will I get my login after ordering?

Your Xtream Codes details arrive by e-mail within minutes of payment, ready to type into the login screen.
